The team was established as the Farnham Knights in 1985 under Head Coach Marc Salazar, an American service member serving in the United States Air Force at RAF Greenham Common.
The team played its first friendly match in 1985 as the Farnham Knights, facing off against the Thames Valley Chargers.
The franchise joined Division 1 of the Budweiser League for its inaugural season in 1986, achieving a commendable 5–5 record. In their second season, 1987, the Knights remained undefeated in their conference fixtures, securing their first Conference title.
